About One Sky

The One Sky International Awareness Event was founded in 2014, by Emily Sommer, who found herself returning to school as a non-traditional student. While attending Boise State University, she saw an opportunity to create an event that connected international issues with local relevance to engage students and the community.

One Sky Event is founded on the beliefs that change begins with one–one idea, one step, one voice, but it takes everyone to sustain change. In collaboration with community partners, we create events to educate and empower with purpose and passion. Our events are free and open to the public.

Community partners have included Boise State’s School of Public Service, Boise State’s Gender Equity Center, Artisans 4 Hope, and The Wassmuth Center for Human Rights.
